Creative Homeoffice

I am one of those guys who started working from home or from a home office way before the pandemic. I am here on my own now for ten years plus.

home office — the good and the bad about it

The biggest plus of working from your own office is the silence — at least for me. Here in Germany cube offices are not that common but you very often share an office room with 2–6 people. At the beginning of working alone, I super enjoyed that silence — nobody on the phone, no one coming in much much less distraction.

Well after a while I discovered the downsides of this. No shoulder work — you can not ask the coworker to have a quick look when you get stuck or feel unsure about your current work. Ok, there are digital ways to do this but at least for me, this is by far not the same experience.

Over the years here in my ivory tower, I tried different ways to get the most out of my home office — to stay organized and get stuff done but also to feel happy and get fulfillment from work. I will write about this journey in the upcoming stories here.

For now, I wish all home office fellows out there a productive day
